Project Overview Design and make a giant wearable head caricature mask inspired by an Arsenal player. Your challenge is not only to create the mask but also to develop a proposal for how it could be used to engage supporters, celebrate the club and contribute to community events and activities. There are many skills to practise, from caricature drawing and modelling prototypes in clay to creating a large-scale painted papier-mâché head. This project aligns with the Creative Industries, particularly set, prop and costume design for TV, film, theatre and live events. Arsenal Football Club is one of the most recognised sports organisations in the world and plays an important role in the identity of our local community. The club is based in Islington, close to our makerspace in Camden, and has many local supporters. Please note, it is fine if you are not an Arsenal fan….. you can still take part and enjoy the experience of designing and making! _______________ Key Information TARGET AUDIENCE 11–18-year-olds (Year 7-13) DAY Thursdays, from 4.15-6.15pm (Except final contingency date) DATES 24th Sep, 1st Oct, 8th Oct, 15th Oct, 22nd Oct (Autumn Half-Term - No Sessions) 5th Nov, 12th Nov, 19th Nov, 26th Nov, 3rd Dec Extra Contingency Dates: Thursday, 10th Dec and Friday, 11th Dec *Please note this is a project-based programme and relies on regular attendance to sessions in order to complete outcomes.
